Letting them Lead: Group Coaching for Parents of Children with Alopecia
Alopecia is not only a life altering diagnosis for your child, but also yourself. Without a safe space to process your own emotions about this experience, it is possible that these emotions might start to bleed into your child’s lane. So what is the key to managing your own emotions about Alopecia while also supporting your child through this experience? Attuning to their journey while knowing your journey is separate from theirs
Without separation of your two journeys, it will be hard to attune to your kid’s unique needs. This group is a safe space for parents to say the scary things out loud and process their own anxieties, knowing that having the space to feel your emotions will allow you to show up for your kid in the ways they need. Healing for you is also healing for them.
These 6 sessions are designed to give you the tools to boost self-esteem and resilience for your kids and yourself. Whether you are trying to unlearn messages from beauty standards or just make sure you’re saying the “right thing” to support your kid through this journey, this space is for you.
Each session will blend practical guidance and education with open conversation and connection from other parents. We will uncover common themes in each families journey with Alopecia and navigate it all together.
